After-Hours and Emergency Services

At Snake River Veterinary Center, we understand that emergencies don’t always happen during business hours. That’s why we provide trusted after-hours and emergency vet services for our large animal clients throughout the Treasure Valley.

If your dog or cat is experiencing a life-threatening emergency outside of normal business hours, please contact Viking Veterinary at (208) 546-0979.

Small Animal After-Hours Support Through VetTriage

Important: If your pet is experiencing a life‑threatening emergency or you need end‑of‑life services, please contact Viking Veterinary Hospital at (208) 546-0979 or WestVet Emergency Center at (208) 375-1600 directly.

For small animal emergencies, Snake River Veterinary Center proudly partners with VetTriage to provide professional after‑hours video telehealth support. Through VetTriage, a licensed veterinarian not affiliated with Snake River Veterinary Center will assess your pet’s condition in real time and determine whether immediate emergency care is needed or if your pet can safely wait for a regular appointment.

If your pet does require urgent attention, the VetTriage veterinarian will guide you on next steps. They may coordinate a visit with an on‑call veterinarian (available Monday–Friday, 5:30–8:00 PM) or direct you to the nearest 24‑hour emergency hospital.

Limited Emergency Vet Services for Small Animals

While Snake River Veterinary Center primarily focuses its after-hours emergency care on large animals, we understand that urgent situations with small pets can arise unexpectedly.

For dogs and cats, we offer limited emergency triage and stabilization services during business hours when possible. If your pet experiences a critical condition after hours, our team can help guide you to the nearest 24-hour small animal emergency hospital.

Important: If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency or you need end-of-life services, please contact the closest ER, Viking Veterinary Hospital at (208) 546-0979 or WestVet Emergency Center at (208) 375-1600 directly.
