Does your best friend
need a bath?

Your dog might be your best companion, biggest fan, and most loyal friend, but sometimes he or she just plain stinks. Call our office and set up an appointment to have our staff bathe and brush your dog in our climate controlled kennel facility.  Your dog will thank you.  We do cats too!

Snake River Veterinary Center offers a full service boarding facility, available seven days a week for dogs and cats.  Our kennels are modern, spacious, odor free, and climate controlled.  Dogs (that aren't chewers) are provided a comfortable Kuranda bed to lift them up off the floor.  Your pet's individual quarters provide natural light and are cleaned daily.  We have a large, secure exercise yard for your dog to romp and play, weather permitting, at least twice daily. Our feline guests are comfortable in their own private room, away from barking dogs and the hustle and bustle of the hospital.

Check-in and Check-out
Regular check-in and check-out days are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Charges begin on the day your pet is dropped off and for each day thereafter.  Pets picked up before 11:00 am on the day of discharge will have the fee waived for the day.

Please contact our office for current rates at (208) 452-7950

Holiday Reservations
We are closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  However, our boarding facility is fully operational and our kennel staff is on duty to care for our guests.  Holidays fill up early so call ahead for reservations.  A prepaid deposit of 50%  of the total stay is required to guarantee boarding reservations for periods including holidays.  Prepaid deposits may be refunded if cancellation is made one week or more prior to the reserved date.  Cancellations made less than one week prior to boarding date are non-refundable.

Vaccinations and Parasite Control
It is mandatory that your pet is current on all vaccinations to insure protection of all pets under our care. The following vaccinations are required:

  • Dogs - annual DHLPP, semi-annual bordatella (kennel cough), and rabies.
  • Cats - annual FVRCP with leukemia, and rabies.

Proof of vaccination by a licensed veterinarian is required.  We accept invoices, medical records, or signed vaccination certificates.  Breeder and home vaccinations are not accepted.

We recommend monthly parasite prevention including a heart worm preventative.  Your pet will be given an "interceptor" tablet to prevent and treat internal parasites.  If external parasites, such as fleas, are found on your pet, it will be treated at the owner’s expense to prevent exposure to other animals in our facility.

Medical Emergencies
One of the biggest advantages to boarding at our facility is that veterinary attention is immediately available should the need arise.  If your pet becomes ill, it will be treated by one of the veterinarians on staff unless otherwise directed.

Food and Medication
We feed all of our guests Purina dry food.  If your pet requires a special diet, please provide our staff with the diet and specific written instructions.  Medication must be in labeled containers with specific instructions. We are happy to accommodate your pet's special needs.

Pet's Belongings
Please limit your pet's belongings to no more than two items.  The items must be permanently labeled with identification.  We will not be responsible for items lost, chewed, or left behind.

  • Toys and Bones-One approved toy or chew bone per pet please.  No pig ears, hooves, rawhides, or raw bones.
  • Bedding and Towels-We provide comfortable blankets and throws.  If you bring bedding, it must be completely washable and no larger than 3" by 3".  No cedar or foam padded bedding please.  If your pet eats bedding, please let us know.
  • We may provide your pet with a non destructible Kong toy to chew on at our discretion.  Please let us know if you do not want your pet to have one.

We encourage you to tour our facility and welcome comments or suggestions. The entire staff at Snake River Veterinary Center welcomes you and your pet to our clinic.  Stop by or call to schedule your pet’s next vacation!
